Obviously Wine Memes are meant to put a little smile on our face. Wine memes are witty and humorous and we enjoy them. As the roman philosopher and wine lover Pliny the Elder wrote “In Vino Veritas,” meaning “In wine, there is truth.” This phrase lives to this day, in both English and Latin, amazing since he wrote about 2,000 years ago!

A Brief History about Wine
While we are ending the week on a high note, I would like to share some wine history with you. Besides water, wine is one of man kinds most ancient beverages. Even thousands of years ago many water sources could be contaminated with dangerous bacteria. Wine since it contains alcohol, was not only safe to drink, the grapes did in ancient times offer “medicinal benefits”.
Also around the year 1000, the Chateau de Goulaine was build in the Loire Valley in France. It is still in operation today, making it the oldest winery in the world!
