Obviously with all the new products containing Blue Scorpion Chlorotoxin (CTX) becoming available in the United States. I wanted to research just what the medical community had to say about them. Especially since they have been used for centuries in other countries for healing.
According to Jan Ove Rein, a senior research librarian (PhD) from the Norwegian University of Science. And Technology and editor of the website the Scorpion Files. “One noticeable example of scorpion use is the centuries old Mesobuthus martensii in Chinese traditional medicine”.
Also written in the Scorpion Files is a list with more than 25 species with medical applications. Which range from pain relief to treatments for seizures and paralysis.
Blue Scorpion Chlorotoxin Cuba’s use for treating cancer
Because there is no written record as to when or how the curative powers of the Blue Scorpion were found out in Cuba. Clearly it’s discovery is being attributed to a research biologist Professor Misael Bordier. As Dr. Bordier had been working with venoms from snakes, spiders and scorpions since 1980. Unfortunately Dr. Bordier died in 2005 at age 59, so we only have his records to rely on. But the folklore abounds with stories of his exploits!!
While doing research for the University of Guantanamo, Dr. Bordier was noticing improvement in rats and dogs taking Rhopalurus junceus (escorpion azul) venom. By working with different mixtures of venom his experiments soon saw tumors decrease in size. As a result of good news travels fast by 1993 people all over the island were coming to him; and begging him to save their children. Of course no one wants them suffering so and laying at death’s door. Therefore Dr. Bordier was providing diluted mixtures containing the chlorotoxins and many are alive to this day!!
As more research developed Cubans have been treating cancer patients with blue scorpion venom for more than 27 years now. And there have been some miraculous stories especially pertaining to the most difficult cancers to treat. Being pancreatic and brain cancers, these treatments pertain to soft muscle or tissue cancers. They have yet to have any success with any blood cancers.
Blue Scorpion Chlorotoxin Peptides for Immunology
Please note that I wrote an article about Blue Scorpion Peptides (from CTX) about two weeks ago. But since that time I had the honor of attending a webinar training to get more information and the latest developments in chlorotoxins. One of the guest speakers was Dr. Bryce Wylde a very respectable and renowned leading expert on alternative medicine. Dr Wylde has written many best sellers and has been on Dr. Oz show among others.
As a result of attending that very informative webinar I knew I had to share the information here. First off I was enthralled with the information Dr. Wylde was presenting so I hope my note taking was sufficient. Because there was so much to follow.
First off Dr. Wylde is very excited about the results he is seeing not only for its immune boosting ability. But also as an anti-inflammatory!! As Dr. Wylde explains to us as simply as possible our immune system is comprised of our “innate” immunity and our “learned” immunity. He explained that our innate immunity is what we are born with we cannot bolster that. But our learned immunity is what we can boost.
So let us focus on “learned” immunity, as Dr. Wylde explained to us our innate immunity is our first line of defense. When our first line is feeling threatened in any way this is where our “learned” immunity kicks in. Dr. Wylde referred to our “learned” immunity as Generals coming in to kick butt to protect the front line (innate immunity). He referred to them as Generals because you have to learn a lot to become a General.
Chlorotoxin Peptides to the rescue
So how does chlorotoxin peptides boost our immune system? Simple it wakes up the generals, when a virus enters our system; of course the first line of defense is there fighting for us. So when there is a threat; somehow the chlorotoxin peptides bides us time for the generals to come to the rescue!! Clearly this is a simple version of events but I like simple!! (just be thankful I did not attempt a paragraph on “hormesis”)
