No doubt about it, women love clothes!! Because it represents our personality and style! But no matter how stylish or beautiful our clothing may be, if you do not have the proper “foundation” you are making a big mistake. So I am providing you with essential information on undergarments every female should know!!
Granted when we are shopping for a new outfit we’re focused on how we look, what we see on the outside. But it is essential to consider the fit of our undergarments so we do not undermine the whole purpose of looking great!
Avoiding undergarment mistake #1
To be sure you need to wear the correct bra size!! By wearing a bra that is too small or ill-fitting in any way causes back fat!! Also years of wearing your favorite bra is the main cause of back-rolls and the underarm bulge. Because it is worn out and is probably not the correct fit anymore.
Even more it is a proven fact that over 70% of women do not know their correct bra size!! So let’s get this situation rectified: the numbers in the bra size correspond to the band size or the width of your torso right under your breasts. (i.e. 32, 34, 36, 38, etc.) And the letters (A< B< C<D) represent the cup size which is the projection of your breast from your chest. Likewise you need to know your bra size can change over time, also the fit may differ from Brand to Brand.
Bras our most important undergarment
Because we wear our bras almost all day COMFORT MATTERS!!! So that brings me to another big mistake you might be doing, adjusting your straps too tight!! I plead the fifth on this, over tightening our straps will provide more lift, but is it worth digging into your shoulders. Besides that bra straps only do about 30% of the heavy lifting. The other 70% comes from the construction of the cups, the underside band, the sides and back wings.
Granted not everyone has access to someone who is a professional fitter, but you can buy a cloth measuring tape!! By measuring yourself once a year you are ensuring the right size. Which can eliminate many types of discomfort like back and shoulder pain!! Lastly Do Not wear your everyday good bras to exercise in!! They are not made for it, invest in a good sports bra with the proper support. Also there are many many bras constructed and designed for specific purposes! (i.e. backless, strapless, bralettes, etc. Get the appropriate bra for the outfit!!!)
Shapewear undergarments an essential
To be sure I absolutely love the term shapewear better than “girdle”!!! Guess I am giving away my age on that one! LOL But joking aside I am going to share the most important factor in buying shapewear. No doubt about it, buy the correct size!! Obviously compression undergarments are made to shape your body, but get the same size as your “clothes size”. By trying to squeeze yourself into a smaller size you are doing your body harm. In this situation it can cause digestive and circulatory problems, not to mention UNCOMFORTABLE!!! Also when you are squeezing into something so tight where is that bulge going to pop up???

Admittedly the selection of panties is as varied as can be. We all seem to know what style we like best be it briefs, hip-huggers, bikini, boy short, etc. So beyond style choice the only tidbit I have to add is information on fabric choice. Because panties make of silk or synthetic fibers are not as breathable as natural fiber. If it is not breathable to allow air flow to wick away heat and moisture problems can arise.
