Malaysian Ramen Noodle Recipe

  • Ingredients:
  • 2  packages chicken-flavored ramen
  •  3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  •  2-3 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh ginger
  •  ½ Medium Red Onion, finely diced
  •  1/2 lb. Cooked Shrimp
  •   1 Large Carrot, finely diced
  •   2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  •   1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
  •   1 tsp. Sriracha
  •   3 cups of chopped baby spinach (about ½ bunch)
  •   5 Fresh limes

Garnish with crushed peanuts, sunflower seeds, roasted pine nuts (basically anything crunchy you like)

Instructions

  1. Break up the noodles while still in the bag.  Set aside one packet of seasoning ( save the other for something else). Then set the noodles and seasoning aside.
  2. In a large pan over medium heat the oil. Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the garlic, ginger, onion, and carrot. Cook until the veggies start to soften and the garlic and ginger start to brown, (about 4 to 5 minutes)  Then stir in the soy sauce, vinegar, Sriracha and about ½ teaspoon of the ramen seasoning. Add the spinach, noodles, shrimp and ½ cup water. Then toss the crushed up noodle cakes and veggies in the sauce. When the noodles start to soften (about 4 or 5 minutes), use a large spoon to break them apart and continue tossing them vigorously in the sauce.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover and then cook until the water has been absorbed and the noodles are leathery and dry. (about 5 to 7 minutes)

Generously squeeze the limes over the entire meal.  Taste and add more lime juice if desired. Finally sprinkle the garnish (peanuts) on top.

Ramen noodles and Wine

Above all I would like to emphasize that any type of meal is enhanced with the addition of a fine wine. Because for centuries food and wine have been paired together across Europe, Canada, South America etc. Also America had that culture before prohibition. We lost generations of the ability to enjoy wine because of it.

Because when prohibition was enacted almost all of our vineyards fell to the wayside! How could a winemaker survive with no customers, thus we lost the wine life of enjoying wine with our meals. As a result it has taken years to build up the beautiful vineyards and wineries in Napa Valley and Sonoma County!!

Share in the Wine Life

Certainly we all know that Napa and Sonoma are famous the world over for the wonderful wines they produce. Many prestigious awards have been bestowed upon these master craftsmen, and these are coveted wines!

So if you want to share in the wine life it could not be easier!! Because we belong to the Napa Valley Wine Club and get 4 bottles delivered to our door every month. Also this is so affordable and convenient, many times one of the bottles included in the shipment is worth $80 and our 4 bottle monthly membership is only $99.95!! Fantastic Deal!!
